[.A3 | SPACE AND SENSORY]

In this course, architects are challenged to go beyond meeting physical requirements and consider the impact of their designs on the human soul—encompassing the mind, emotions, and will. The objectives include enhancing students' abilities to develop conceptual narratives, understanding the dimensional needs of the human body, applying fundamental design principles, and considering both practical and poetic elements in their creations. Exploring the influence of material selection on sensory experiences and acquiring skills in constructing various study models are integral tasks.
Students will re-examine their Project 1 models, study material characteristics, develop test models, and create drawings and diagrams for presentation boards. The ultimate goal is to verbally present their design executions, emphasizing the fusion of practicality and poetry in architectural spaces.

This module has been a valuable experience, broadening my view of architecture to consider both physical needs and the impact on the human soul. I've learned to create conceptual narratives, balance objective and subjective elements in design, and understand the human body's dimensions. Exploring materials and creating various study models improved my practical skills, and reinterpreting my Project 1 model allowed for self-reflection. I now appreciate the poetic aspects of design, aiming to integrate both practicality and inspiration in my architectural approach. Overall, this module has shaped my understanding of architecture as a holistic and impactful discipline.
